I personaly believe the person chambering and crowning the barrel will be more of a factor than brand name.A pre-fit barrel has to have the smallest threads allowed in the tolerance to make sure that it fits the smallest action in the tolerance. This makes for a loose fit in an action that has threads on the large side. I agree that you should start with good barrel, but the chamber is equally as important. I bought a 10/22 Shilen barrel a couple of years ago and the chamber was long. I've got 2 shilen barrels right now both in a 6mm chambering. I couldn't be happier with the one- but the second was pretty disappointing.
