2024 Matlab cell array to string array

I have many large cell arrays (about 10000x100 cells each) that contain character arrays, sometimes these are numbers as strings and somtimes they are '..' or 'x' or something similar. I want to convert these cell arrays to numeric matrices (double arrays), so that all "number strings" are numbers (doubles) and all the other entries zeros.. How to cheat iready
